Martin Ling has now completed the signing of ex QPR midfielder Stuart Wardley from League One Torquay United, on an initial three month contract. Wardley, who will assume the shirt number of departed Wayne Purser, will have to prove his fitness to the O's boss if he is to get a longer term contract as he missed most of last season through injury. Wardley has been on a weekly contract with Torquay for whom he scored twice in in eight outings this season. Prior to Torquay, Wardley was with Rushden and Diamonds for whom he made sixty six appearances, scoring twelve times.
He made his debut in Wednesday's "Behind closed doors" reserve friendly at The Matchroom Stadium with Spurs, playing for sixty minutes in a 3-2 victory for Spurs.
