Leyton Orient FC have issued an official statement on their website today confirming that they have entered preliminary discussions concerning a move to the new Olympic Stadium.
The full legal and commercial terms, design of the stadium and community use are to be agreed and the club have promised a full consultation process with supporters and other interested parties.
Barry Hearn is quoted on www,leytonorient.co.uk stating, "We have been approached by the organisation shaping the legacy of London 2012 and the opportunity to move to the Olympic Stadium interests us." He is further quoted - "There is no doubt that the opportunity to move into a brand new stadium could be the catalyst that turns us from what we are now to a club operating at a much higher level."
